I was fooled a number of times, because I actually watched the series right to the end - and for that reason I'll give it 2 stars instead of 1. But looking back, almost from the beginning I was saying "that doesn't make sense".
There are just so many crazy things happening. I know it's not a documentary, but come on if you're going to spend all that money at least get some of the police-work right. You have an entire office full of uniformed police officers and you set-out to arrest a suspect all on your own instead of taking some back-up.
Also, she's no longer in the military, where is this gun range she just casually strolled into and had a shoot?
I won't go on and cover things people have already mentioned. It's a shame as some bits were really good - the dead first wife was a great surprise, and the second detective being gay - without any associated drama was a nice change.
I must admit as time went on I started disliking the main character more and more. But some people seem to have loved the series which is fine, we all have different thresholds for entertainment - perhaps I over-think things like the plot and things that just don't make sense.
