Essentially the plot was: “Omg! My life is soooooo hard! I’m a cis gender, straight, white, blonde-haired, blue eyed, skinny, rich girl but worst of all...I’M TALL 😭😭😭 And no one likes me except for my friend who likes me and constantly asks me out, but like, he’s not tall though! Ugh! I’m sooooo oppressed!...Oh and I also slap my sister when she eats carbs because in this movie anorexia is a good thing!”
But don’t worry it’s not offensive because she has one black friend. 😑🙄 I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie that belittles the hardships of people who are actually oppressed so much. I mean she actually says, “You think your life is hard? I’m a high school junior wearing size 13 Nikes. Men’s size 13 Nikes. Beat that!” (3:15-3:25).
You want me to beat that? Ok. I’m a 4’11 bisexual with ADHD, anxiety disorder, and depression, who comes from a middle class, divorced, family, who lost everything in the housing crisis. And my life is AMAZING compared to like 99% of people out there.
