At first blush, I couldn't decide whether Eleanor was just quirky, socially inept, kinda creepy, or deserving of my pity. Never mind that. The character development in this book is really outstanding, and the story is engrossing, surprising, and so real that you'll fall in love with Eleanor. I "read" the audiobook and was a little embarrassed at times to be given such an intimate look at this complicated person. The reader is superb and brings the author's words to life. I heard there's a movie coming out, but I can't imagine how they could do justice to the book. I guess we shall see! Anyhow, I highly recommend this one and would gladly have another listen. Or read.
