Fun ride with room to grow, not the worst pilot Star Trek has produced by far. A few funny nods to source material without outright mocking Star Trek as a whole. A few misses in the timing and jokes department but overall not a bad start.

Imaginative and entertaining. It does cover some interesting new ground in Trek without ditching the connections to its progenitors. Only significant flaw is the over dramatized emphasis on Burnham's feelings and occasional weakly masked attempts to preach certain sociopolitical views. Looking forward to more and the upcoming spinoff with the very well portrayed Captain Pike!

Compelling and entertaining in spite of its flaws. Thoroughly enjoyed the first season and can't wait for the next :)
