The giant comet destroying Earth could just as well be seen as everything we are currently doing to Earth. Everyone is warning us, all the signs are there. Global warming, the sea busy dying off one coral reef at a time. Humans inhumanely breeding and slaughtering animals just to selfishly satisfy taste buds 3 to 6 times a day. Human pride and ego is what represents that comet heading Earth and this movie put it perfectly in perspective. What 'famous' people do with their lives, material things, the latest social media technology and all the rest is more important than the only planet we live on. Kate perfectly represents the minority trying to make a difference, saying 'we really did try' .. sadly, people will only see when it is too late.
