I am currently watching it although I am already in the last season. I do enjoy it and there are great characters but I am getting fed up with trying to tell a story with the intention of pleasing the dozens of race, sexuality, gender and stuff, it’s just laming Hollywood movies now. It’s okay to tell a story focusing on one and unless we can all come together and respect our differences without getting offended because we are not mentioned in a story, the mutual co-existence is fake.
Also, it would be great to identify individuals for who they are and with a little research Hollywood can get it right, but sometimes it seems like they just don’t put that little effort in the tiny things forgetting that the movies are for everyone to watch which means including experts in a particular field or individuals; for instance, in season 5 episode 2 where the character is a gay female Muslim, I think they didn’t think it through as the character has been portrait as a devoted Muslim woman mentioning the Quran but then she is a gay. That will never happen in reality. There are gays in the Muslim world but they know what they are doing is condemned by the Quran so they never associate their action to the Quran because they know being a Muslim is not just a name but it’s an action with boundaries e.g. as a chemist I can not just call myself a lawyer while I act as a chemist, to be called a lawyer I have to have the knowledge and act according to it before I will be qualified to be a lawyer; same goes to Muslims, she cannot just say she is a Muslim and calling the Quran that says don’t be gay or you will burn in hell. Hollywood do a bit of digging even for the little characters otherwise you will not make an impact in a bunch of groups in the society!
