I finally got around to watching it. Both the main characters were great and deserved their accolades for the acting but holy cow this movie is so overhyped, like beyond overhyped. It's not a really big deal of a story in fact it's pretty meh. Some guy wants to be the best drummer and he's willing to sacrifice lots of things to try and attain it including taking a lot of s*** from the teacher. Asks the question why should abusive behaviour be allowed for achievement. Basically Stockholm syndrome drummer movie. The drummer or the stand in for the drummer was great but it's still waaaay overhyped.

This film is good at hyping itself. The first two Deadpools films were funnier better written and didn't really have so much dead space like this one has. I kept looking at the time to see how long we've been doing this and that's not a good sign. Best thing about this movie is having Wolverine back and the various surprise cameos that I didn't expect, but that doesn't make a cohesive movie. The movie plot was mediocre it wasn't tight at all. At best this is a three out of five movie. I just feel like I could have been so much better especially with the plot line. It was just lame the way they went about it.

I think this film is a bit of a diamond in the rough. It's well done for what it is. The filming, cinematography and the mood of the film was well captured. The scare in the movie doesn't come from cheap jumpscares. I thought that was maybe one jumpscare and it was appropriate for the scene but even that I would barely consider it a jump scare. The "scary" aspect comes from the mood and suspense of the filming and the score of the movie. There was a bit of gore and blood but it was all off screen. You never saw the visceral act of it as some other movies put it in for shock value . I enjoyed it for what it was. The acting was great, considering there was basically four actors in it. If you wanted to support an independent film and watch a suspense type film then I think this would be a worthwhile choice.

The story didn't have to be told in flashback, convoluted way. It wasn't hard to follow but the story itself was meh with the romanticize triad loyalty type story that's been told so many times. The fight scenes were fine but didn't blow me away like "everything and all at once" if I'm comparing modern day type fighting scenes. The movie isn't bad but it wasn't as great as these people make it to be. It's based on a comic so just have expectations based on that.

Anime movies (not series) that I've watched: Suzume, Weathering with you, The girl who leapt through time, Your name. I had enjoyed them all as they all had interesting stories and great animation. This is my first time ever watching a Hayao Miyazaki and it has turned me off to watching any of his other so-called classic because this movie was garbage. I kept waiting for the story to get to a point and it didn't. The movie had an incoherent plot that you have to look up on some Wiki to try and explain the supposedly sophisticated 20 layers of pointlessness. Everybody's who has rated it so high must be lifetime fanboys. I can't imagine watching another one of his movies if they're all like this. Don't bother with this pointless movie. The only redeeming part of the movie is that it was well animated, but the story will bore you to tears and you'll be looking for some Wiki or review trying to figure out what was the point of losing 2 hours of your life. Don't do it !!!!!

28 years after it came out I watched it the second time with my kids as I told them that it was a classic family movie. I remember I loved how they Incorporated the songs into the movie the first time I watched it and when I watched it this time around it was the same thing that I loved. Generally fun and light humour family movie, one violent scene during when they capped the henchmen which got the Whoopi character in trouble in the first place. This movie holds up well after all these years and this time around my family enjoyed it.

I don't know where all the bad buzz is coming from because I thought it was a decent sci fi type film. I thought Will Smith was really good in this movie in terms of his acting range. People complain about the de aging effect but I didn't mind that it wasn't perfect all the time. Decent plot, good action, plausible enough plot though there may be some minor holes like all movies. The Avengers Endgame's entire movie was a plot hole and nobody minded that. I thought the pacing was good , the cinematography was good and the music was good. If you are Will Smith fan then you'll enjoy this. I would compare this favourably to a movie like , IRobot.
