B plus---very good. Thought the acting was suburb--particularly De Niro. To a degree he is in a class of his own. With the scene when being asked to lie and being told what occurred at Wilkison--no dialogue--just the face of De Niro.
And I found the scenes with the boys in Hell's Kitchen highly realistic--noting I grew up in Brooklyn in the '50's.
Yet, have to consider the story as fiction. Particularly with Michael, who would have to be only in his 20's in the Homicide Bureau at the Manhattan DA's Office (I was at the Bronx DA's Office in the '70's). And ought to note the cross-examination of Fredicks was done near perfectly---slow and calm. With questioning whether a Judge would allow such extent--not relevant to the issues at trial.
Yet, very good, and most probable fiction
