It was an okay movie. I like the stories it was trying to tell, however, it's constant cutting back and forth makes the film feel disjointed, makes the film feel longer than it actually it, and makes it hard to get invested in the characters and their stories(especially with how long it can take to actually get back to each story). I wanted to like the film, but I didn't even know what it was about for the beginning and middle sections. It didn't help that each character's story isn't evenly distributed. the Film is also full of scenes that feel pointless, I know focusing on the mundanities is part of the point, but it focus TOO much on them, and when you focus too much on the mundane, that's what the movie becomes. I watched this with my Grandma, whose a big fan of the book, having seen all the other adaptations as well, and she thought the movie was boring. What they should've done is spent 30 minutes on each girl(because if I can only remember three out of four of them, that's a problem), 10 minutes on mundanities, and five minutes for epilogue. Cutting works for passage of time, so spend 10 minutes on each, then have 5 minutes of mundanities, rinse and repeat until the end. If one girl doesn't have enough story, add something, if a girl has much more than you can fit 30 minutes, cut from said story.
