I'm not sure who made the decision for casting in this movie, but having been a long time Crow fan, I was extremely disappointed. A lot of the people that were cast in this movie just weren't that interesting. While the lead was good in spite of a lot of uphill battles, he obviously had to deal with, the girl that was his co-star didn't inspire the kind of adoration he seemed to feel for her. I'm not sure what's going on with movie makers nowadays, but they need to get back on the ball and stop casting people just because they're famous. I actually had to force myself to finish watching this movie.

I love Anne Rice's writing, but this series did not do her justice. The acting by the lead star was so ridiculously unbelievable that I really almost didn't believe she was the one acting because she's usually very good. I didn't buy any of it. None of the scenes made sense and none of her reactions seemed believable in any sense of the word. She's an absolutely beautiful actress and very talented so I'm going to blame this on the director, because whoever was directing these scenes had no damned idea what they were doing. I'm not looking forward to a season two of this because by the end of the first season I was just hoping to hurry up and get it over with.

This movie ripped off Kal-El's origin story, but instead of unconditional love from a hard-working farmer and his wife, the kid gets adopted by a confused artist and her "one of the guys" husband who drops support of the kid at the first sign of trouble. Oddly, he finds out the kid knows he's an alien and basically gives the sexually confused kid permission to "go after a girl"... Disappointed at the ball dropping in this movie.
