This movie was not what I expected from the Fast an Furious franchise.
It's didn't have the same start up in the movie as previous versions. The build up was long winded. The script/dialogue was below standard and the comic relief was far and few between.
Previous version would see the team pull together for a common cause. With brief moments of the team needing to part then reunited to achive said goal.
This saw the team constantly seperated and failing to come together. There was too much plotting and not enough action.
It is clear the next instalment will correct this, but it is predictable. Without revealing to much, you can clearly see where it is heading. With suspect dead characters coming back from the dead.
Having the lead actor left in a perilous situation and possible last minute save. Enemies becoming allies and new found friends becoming enemies.
They also made it seem as if the lead character was almost helpless to stop it. If you love the Dominic Torreto of old, its disappointing. The bad guy was way to crazy, almost over acting at times. Instead of a hel bent, focused, rage filled villain. You had a semi flamboyant, semi crazy bad guy. In my opinion not suited to the actors usual skil set.
It was ok but I wouldn't watch it again or at least wait until it gets released on binge. It also didn't leave me with desore to watch the conclusion, it simply gave too much away. Left Toretto looking weak and his team incompetent. 4 out 10 for me.
