I’m genuinely shocked by how few people seemed to follow (what I think?) the creator is doing with this film. It’s not “sci-fi” or an “intense love” movie. It’s showing us the plight of the mentally ill, drug addicted individual. Wilson’s character isn’t actually able to mind control anything, he’s hallucinating. He never goes to another world, but he truly believes he does. From what I gathered, we are supposed to identify with the persistence of the daughter, and seek to do as she did for anyone in our life living the life Wilson depicted.
