The sections following Otis and son are repulsive. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this book to any child, maybe a 40 year old would be able to tolerate it. I don’t doubt the historical part of the story but some things are too repulsive to recount. Makes me see the origin of the British boy’s choirs differently!
