There were a lot of good things and a lot of bad things about this movie. I enjoyed it more than I disliked it so that shows in my rating of 3.5 stars. I was hoping though for more action, but not just for the sake of it. I expected there to be some mind-blowing fights that bend their reality further than we've ever seen and maybe even other new characters that filled the void while Neo was plugged back into the Matrix. I did like some of the adaptations to bring it into our current reality or virtual reality. 😜 And then getting to see what has been going on in the "real" world since the last movies left off was awesome. I could have went without seeing the parts where they discussed the idea of making a Matrix 4 game in the movie as part of the backstory of how Mr. Anderson was tricked into living in this new Matrix. It was like hearing the internal emails and conversations that they all had about the idea of even making this movie. There's a lot of this that could have been cut to not make the movie seem to drag in parts.

There were at least 3 major lines that could have been made epically better in this telling of book 1, water, from season 1 of the cartoon series. The special effects used were not nearly as interesting or exciting as they could have been compared to the animated series. More effects went into the closing credits than the movie itself. The script written was like a dumbed-down version of the cartoon lines. I would have wished it was done better for there to be a "Avatar: The Last Airbender" trilogy with the other 2 books.
