Great easy reading…Based on A subject I find absolutely fascinating. I do wish the modern day protagonist had a bit more character development bc she comes across a bit weak in nature compared to the 1700s women and their choices. Her indecisiveness/weakness is almost annoying at times..overall I couldn’t put it down and highly recommend for some easy historical fiction reading.

Great graphic material if you’re just into antebellum filming. However they tried to much for the “still novel” look for the director it was stupid to me and then the ending ... just seriously I waited through all that violence and torment to have a mediocre ending? I don’t really get what they were going for other than a I’m just soooooo dejected movie
