Anuradha Venkatesh

Outstanding performances by Neena Gupta and Rajit Kapoor are what make this movie stand out. With just two characters and no supporting cast, it's difficult to carry a story of this length. They do it amazingly. A woman's quest for freedom late in life. Freedom from the humdrum existence she's led so far, from a husband who starts off with being a typical boor but develops unexpected shades of grey as the story progresses are not easy to dramatise. Full marks to the film for doing it.
