By season 3 I started to get bored. I enjoyed tje black -Jewish o interactipn. I thought that the writers could have done such with that. I Jewish amd love black humor. But so little was done with that. Also having a black audience laugh at gay humor at the expense of their favorite singer in the 50s amd sixties was not believable to me. It is different today but not then.

I had high expectations but was very disappointed with the storyline,which I found utterly co fusing amd confounding. The direction did not help. I thought maybe I was missing g something but my son who also watched it and is a movie maven claimed he was utterly bored and only watched it to the end because he erroneously believed there was more to the story due to misleading reviews. Tired of all the pseudo elitist psychobabble with nothing of any depth to share.

For me this is one of her best book. Her understanding of human nature, behavior and complex interactions between the characters and yet maintain an interesti.g storyline is utterly amazing for someone as young as she was at time of writing. I loved every word ,every thought expressed every line written. The characters she wrote about could very easily be th e characters we read about today.
