It’s good… particularly the onboard stuff. The family stuff is OK wth the exception of the commander’s family… most of the time it’s very cringy. “Mommy, why did you have to leave me?” Oh, sweetheart, I’m so sorry, sob sob…” You get the idea. Just once I wish she’d reply, “Because it’s my job and I’m damn good at it… now quit whining!” There’s one scene early on where two of them are fixing solar sails… Fantastic episode. Best by far… Apart from the cringey stuff, well worth watching. One other thing… one of the characters is very religious. I don’t mind that as most people are… but they play it up a bit too much for a ‘science’ show.

A good show but highly overrated. Basically a Walking Dead clone without using a bit of imagination to make it a little different. Like, how about just once, the 'zombies' aren't just raving monsters but have some ability to 'think'. So you might actually feel something when they're getting slaughtered. Also, the 'she might be able to save mankind' thing has been done to death. And, don't get me started on Melanie Lynskey's silly resistance leader. First of all, who would follow a raving lunatic like her? Her second in command had the brains and they should have been following him. Now, for some good stuff: The Ellie character is great, she might actually entice me to watch a second season, depending on what they do with her character. The Joel character is good but is basically just another Rick from TWD. If he gets it... not a huge deal. Bottom line... it's an entertaining watch but it's no better than a lot of other shows on the tube right now.
