At the outset let me congratulate and also thank Mr. Giridhar Pai for this wonderful book - Life at Ubarnia. When I first read cover page of the book I was in notion that it might be one more book which is promoting a township or its residents experiences, but after going through first few pages of the contents and foreword of the book I realised that I was completely wrong. The chapters covered by the author is a journey which doesn’t restricts you inside the township but also takes you through entire Thane city. Apart from describing and exploring you Thane city In one of the chapters he took us to Nanak Kripa Restaurant at Vashi and shared his experience of eating Punjabi dishes during winter season in the Dhaba style restaurant and explained us various places to visit and taste scrumptious dishes as per the season. His passion towards Gardening and conducting various gardening workshops at Urbania has turned many Urbania residents in to regular gardeners, Author also covered various modes to commute in and around of Thane, beautiful lakes and historical places to visit. We moved to Urbania township from Chembur,as we dint had much information of shopping aread in Thane we still continued to go all the way to Chembur during weekends, this book guides you information of various shopping spots in Thane and their specialities which will help new residents moving to the township and avoid my initial experiences i had for shopping after moving from Chembur. I would like to congratulate once again for coming up with this very informative book and expect few more editions of this book covering many more important places , educational institutions, business hubs etc which will be a 360° book of Thane city.
