I'm a bit disappointed with the "critic" reviews, and very happy about the audience reviews. Honestly, I think the critics have missed something about this movie, and it's that Ranee shows a relatable story of your average woman. It showed the pit falls of commercialization and even our own attitudes toward the average woman. I think that the critics are too much on a moral high horse to realize that their own implicit attitudes to characters like Ranee reflect the behaviors and actions of the "prettier" people in the movie. Let's get honest, People are horrible. We see and hear it all the time especially when people criticize celebrities during an event like the Oscar's or the grammies, talking about what they wear and how they look. As conflicting as the statement may seem "the picture matters" and that's because people make judgement calls on appearance. Instead of ignoring that, the movie made it blatant. It makes us uncomfortable, but it's honest
