Honestly, the movie felt like an overcompensation with the lengthy run time and some of the extended scenes. Some of the moments feel like a desperate attempt to explain the mistakes of the first and to connect it to his previous Dawn of Justice movie. The reused scenes- while changed in theme- honestly felt like they stole away from Zach's artistic license. They killed much of the anticipation.
But rhe ills are just consequence of the pressures of fixing an inferior model.
The movie finally makes sense. Steppenwolf is finally a meaningful Villain with purpose. While I hoped to see more Darkside, am happy that he was reserved for a hoped for Sequel. Wolfie carried his own weight as the Villain of this magnitude of a movie.
I just spent 4 hours of my life lost in something I that was worth my anticipation. The darkness of the whole experience is perfectly quintessential of a DC movie. Finally we have a Barry Allen whose character can be developed to a worthy Stand Alone with Dr. ZOOM. The resentment in Aquaman is perfect for Character development.
My sole true unhappiness with the movie is the whole failure of every DC movie to bring out the best cold calculating Bruce Wayne and an equally kickass Batman....
All said.... thank you Zach. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you
