Not sure what happened Ubisoft but this game bombed big time. How do you go from Origin to this? This is 10 steps backwards. Visually, ok. You made some enhancements. But the gameplay is far from Origin. It’s almost like this game should’ve came out before Origin. Nice cut scenes and great addition with having us make choices that effects the game but again, the gameplay and over all mechanics just can’t compete with Origins. I gave it 1 star mainly because I’m disappointed. Expected a lot more. I believe in you Ubisoft. Pleas don’t let me down with Valhalla!

Let me start by saying this is definitely an upgrade from WWE 2K21. Its well polished and plays a lot smoother than the rest. Other than all the normal things about the exhibition type modes, The highlight hands down is MyGM mode. Unfortunately there are a lot of things about MyGM mode 2K dropped the ball on. The biggest let down are the lack of championships, match types and the inability to be a part of a faction within the Mode. How can you have tag team matches and wrestlers requesting to be tag team partners, but no tag team belts? Make it make sense. Would’ve also been great to see Survivor Series, Royal Rumble, King of the Ring and actually have a Money in the Bank match where the winner could actually cash it in for a shot at the title…. These additions would have made this mode Epic. The Rey Mysterio mode was a good idea, but why only Rey? Why not also Taker, Hulk, The Rock, Sting, Goldberg, etc. it’s like they have great idea’s thrown in but didn’t take the time to maximize on the potential of them. Over all the game is fun but it could’ve been alot better if they put more effort into the things that make the game fun to play. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. Could’ve easily been a 4 star if they wouldn’t have sold us short of key details. A big step in the right direction though I give y’all that. If these details are added to WWE 2K23 along with adding more versions of key Characters like the Rock, Sting, Hulk Hogan, etc… Easy 5 Star.

For starts this game has epic potential that falls short due to repetitive combat and not enough check points. The difficulty of the combat is too high with the small amount of training given in the beginning of the game. That along with the fact the enemies are too tough to beat. I can understand the bosses being hard but time a block wrong and a regular character can kill you with an unstoppable combo. The camera angles sometimes cause issues when fighting as well. Steps going to a lower or higher level and corners will cause you to not see a punch or kick coming or not be able to punch/kick an enemy. Also when faced with multiple opponents and surrounded good luck with trying to focus your attacks because there’s no lock system. Attack one enemy another enemy clocks you in the back of the head with a bottle, your dead. And most importantly check points. Their are no check points which mean you can fight your way all the way to the boss but if you die all progress on that level is lost and you have to start from the beginning. This game may be fun for those who desire an extreme challenge and those who don’t mind repetitiveness just for the hell of it. Honestly the game could’ve been a $19.99 buy But at $39.99 I expect more. Also, what’s the point of having it on PS5 if it’s not gonna be visually or systematically advance? Great button masher/beat ‘em up if you have some time to spare but prepare to be frustrated if you plan to take it serious and actually attempt to beat the game. I Love kung fu and expected more for $40. Just my take though it’s worth a few plays but expensive for the experience. Looking forward to see what part 2 brings.
