I honestly want to know who is getting paid to praise this mediocrity. In short it is ok. Story line has potential but falls flat. Characters are underdeveloped and largely show no progression of their arcs throughout. The main character goes from humble village boy to having the character trait of revenge and anger and thats about it. Oh he cares about his "friends" that he spends all of 5 minutes with and, again, thats about it. There was a lot of potential here but it is lazy in writing and animation. The voice actors do their best and actually put a good performance, but the script is so generic and flat. The animation really tics me off. They do such a great job in illustrating scenes but can't be bothered to create expression during dialogues. And they really cut corners during any degree of movement or combat. I dont know if they kept getting restricted on budget but the number of flash backs, reused animations and dialogue is tedious to be polite. By far not the worst anime I've seen. As I say an exercise in mediocrity. Its almost as disappointing as 7 deadly sins season 4. I feel netflix are half asking their investments and its a real shame.
