Shezad Mistry – Google

Really admire the mind of M. Night Shyamalan to come up with such a concept where no CGI is required to show/describe a superhuman unlike other productions. The story could've been a bit better in my opinion, Elijah talking about comics and superhero stories does sound a bit stupid or 'childish', where I thought the dialogues could've been better, and the ending was good but it didn't build up properly with the climax. Other than that the concept of the film is brilliant, the shots were amazing and the superhero being so minimal was the best bit of the film.

A bloody rollercoaster of thrills and suspenses. Loved the continuous shots, the direction and the writing, Brilliant! I had no idea what the film was about, I just wathed it online with a bunch of other viewers and the film kept giving the chills one after another. I did figure out one thing about the father but there was something more than what I had the impression of. Can definitely be called a Cult Classic in near future.

Its a simple film, but takes a turn after the first half where they mention the seious issue regarding Millworkers. I dont wanna give away the film entirely in this review, but I'd say that every character's story was incomplete in a way, which is not bad but unique especially in 1980s I believe, as during that period many movies were of Romance | Action genre, and this seems to be a bit different, which is why I used the word Unique. I really enjoyed Naseeruddin's acting, his persona in the film was fun to watch. There is basic humour in dialogues (without bgm laughters/claps), which some might find off, but I liked it. For example Joan's response to the guy who says 'Aap meri behen jaise dikhti ho', Albert's dialgoue which follows Mr. Braganza's words after their conversation, 'Ye sab strike wike sab gunda logon ka kaam hai'. If you get it, you get it. Wrapping it shortly, one beautiful film this was portraying a life of a Mechanic who has anger issues but is funny by nature as well with a social issue entering in his and the city's life.

(SPOLER) My brain couldn't understand it even today (2022), I had to read certain articles and explainations, watched old footages of Kashyap explaining it which made me realise the movie was way ahead of its time. A cult classic which makes me wanna dig out more gold in indian cinema. When I thought 'okay I think I've got the hang of it', it throws a distraction, but all the distractions might make sense in a methaphorical way since the movie is one Metaphor. I believe this has to be one of the best dark/noir genre movie that Indian cinema has witnessed til date.
