A Soap Opera way too drawn out. Kim Ji-won was much better in “My Liberation Notes”. She is just fulfilling a roll with no substance in Queen of Tears. How many times can viewers watch eyes become red and tear for minutes long close ups? Characters were sterotypes. The plot tired and overdone. How is brain surgery done without disturbing a hair on one’s head much less shaving the scalp? The best part of this cloying drama was seeing her wardrobe.

Usually David Baldacci writes intriguing and interesting plots with likeable if not totally believable characters. His books are an enjoyable way to spend a few hours of pure escape even though they are not remarkable literature. What a departure from his usual format and what a disappointment “Simply Lies” is. A Confusing disjointed plot and flat unrealistic characters create an unreadable storyline that is like plodding through deep mud with no chance of getting through it. I forced myself to read half the book thinking it’s got to get better but it got worse by the page. Finally gave up. The book is on the Best Seller list due to Baldacci’s fame but if he writes similar cut and paste novels in the future I don’t see that happening again. It certainly doesn’t deserve to be on that list or deserve to be read. A huge waste of time.

Not enjoyable. Poor copy of Indian Matchmaking which was much more interesting and fun to watch. Aleeza’s clients were preening for the camera, shallow and superficial. Basically unlikable silly vane people who do no credit to Judaism. I could not watch more than half the first episode. I am so disappointed as I enjoyed Indian Matchmaking and as a Jew was so looking forward to this Jewish iteration.
