Certainly fine for young viewers but I became bored before the half way point. One thing is the choice of Jack Black in the lead. He never really creates the character, but instead, is just Jack Black. Personally, the lead should have been someone more quirky...like Johnny Depp or even Christopher Walken (the king of creep). I suspect Black was cast to attract teens based on who he is and not on how well he can act.
