This book has many strengths. Tiernan’s story of emotional trauma, as well as Kaleb’s are heartbreaking. The confusion and emptiness are palpable and the author weaves a story that is completely captivating. With that said, I felt that she went for “low hanging fruit” with the sexual and very often predatory and abusive scenarios that in and of themselves would be traumatic and made, for me, the ending hard to accept as viable.
