Nowhere near as good as I remembered. Paper thin plot. Unlikeable main character. Cliche as heck. Middling animation. Really dated folk music soundtrack that is used as a time filler since there isn't enough story for an hour and a half. I'm sorry I made my poor kids sit through it. Giving it two stars for nostalgia's sake only.

Magical movie (pun intended). Really enjoyed the music and the message, though I think it would've been a better message if they hadn't had the final scene (don't wanna spoil what it was).

My kids liked it but it was pretty B-level. However, I expected that. The thing I wasn't a fan of was the last scene, which gets suddenly violent. First a kid gets impaled with a harpoon though they don't really show anything. Then the main character flat out murders an unarmed black man by pulling all the water out of his body. 😳 Everybody cheers. The end.
