Look around you. What can you see? Many wardrobes? How about shoes, clothes, hats or even socks? But have you ever stop to think if you need everything? Even that old toy that you don't play with for a long time? That painting that you never stuck to the wall, even if it is quite beautiful. The fashion dress you would buy to fill even more your closet. Your closet! Do you need all of that clothes? Or that giant house of your dreams? That is exactly what the documentary Minimalism makes you think. Do you need it all?
This documentary shows that you don’t need that much. You can be happy with just some things to survive. It shows that some people try to fill an empty in their hearts by buying stuff.
In the beginning it shows the story of the minimalism in the life of one of the main characters and he said that he was a sad person that spent more money that he had trying to fill something inside himself. One day a friend of his went happier to work and he got curious of what made his friend so happy so he called him for a snack. While they eat his friend told he was happier because he discovered something about minimalism that is to live happy with less.
The documentary shows the life of many minimalists and how minimalism affect their lives. It also shows people that live by doing minimalist things, like houses. They make homes in a small size that is enough to live in. It stucks in our heads that minimalism is healthy for our brains and it does that by showing examples of people like Dan Harris that had a happier life after he begin to live as minimalist. But it also made me think about all the trash the lack of minimalism produce in the world and where it goes. So if we want a better world we need to be more minimalists. We need that more citizens to worry about the world and about mental health and we can get close to this through MINIMALISM.
I am a 12 years old minimalist boy that already see the importance of it and this text was a school work (Year 7).
