I'm having a hard time believing the reviews I'm seeing. full of superlatives and levels of praise that I don't think are merited. People are saying this is a once in a lifetime masterpiece and it really isn't. It's not bad by any means. it's funny but not THAT funny. I've seen much funnier shows. I still don't see Bill Hader in a trained assassin role, he just doesn't look the part. no tattoos, no battle scars, nothing like any traditional action hero you would expect. But some people seem to like that twist to the role.. I didn't. as for the whole "killer who wants to be an actor" thing.. I'm not buying it. juxtaposing two totally different worlds that just don't jive that well together. This sounds like some producer wanted to do a comedy about the film/acting world, but since crime shows are also popular, he decided to mix it with murder. The end result is basically pineapple on a pizza. Kinda of a weird idea..but you can enjoy it if you give it a shot, but far from my favorite pizza combo.
