I really enjoyed this book. As a marketing book it started off a little slow, although I still found Mr. Postaer's early life interesting and worthy of a read. He took an unconventional path into marketing that in many ways reminded me of my own, and it was neat to see how he dealt with the bumps in the road that came his way.
For me it really picked up when he got to SWS, then into Needham. I enjoy the storied histories of ad agencies quite a bit, which is maybe one reason why I'm drawn to marketing in general. And when he made the transition from Needham to RPA it was especially fascinating for me because I work at RPA, and on the main accounts he talks about. Never before have I gotten a window into the history of what I'm working on quite like this. Even mentioned when they moved into the building I currently work at.
So yeah of course I love this book because it's personal to me and touches directly on big aspects of my life. But I also really liked this book on its own as a marketing book - it reminds me of one of my favorites, My Life In Advertising/Scientific Advertising by Claude Hopkins, which is a classic.
Highly recommend this book!
