Okay so I see others talking about how bad the acting was and how it’s just a ‘woke’ film. I disagree- they are focusing on the wrong thing. The dancing was terribly and lazily choreographed- the ball room scene didn’t even have a ballroom dance. There were no ‘big musical numbers’ which for a musical is very strange. The songs were all stop start- never having a chance to properly start. The writing was also strange- a blend between old english and modern slang. And the costuming was dodgy to say the least. If they had used different songs that match the vibe and had actually committed to a dance number, maybe some comedy and more depth to the romance rather than ‘she’s on a statue… I love her’. It might have gotten at least another star.
