This series is Shakespearean in its scope and depth. And in this time of suspicion and distrust of the police in the US, here is a series that lays it all out in full gamut of good cops, bad cops and the very delicate tightrope walking that must be maintained in order to live up to a very high moral code. But it is not just all about the coppers - each character - the victims and the bad guys, the families, and the larger community are clearly revealed with great insight into the conflicts of the full range of human emotions. How we become entangled, uplifted or destroyed. And yes it was shot in Wales and in Welsh as well as English, but it is a classic that transcends all boundaries. It deserves much more than just five stars.
