The show of course really mixes things up and strays far from the books. But Asimov himself said he would not write screenplays because it is a visual medium and his writing is the spoken word, not the visual. As to the series it is the most beautiful epic I have ever seen on TV. It is intelligently written. I am enjoying it even though its not a literal translation of the books.
