I wanted so badly to not be like “this was obviously written by a man who has never gone through this” but yeah this was written by a man who has never gone through this. Waited through the whole movie cause the reviews were crazy good, there were some sweet scenes at the end but I don’t understand the praise. It was fine and definitely not from someone who has been an eighth grade girl. If you want an actually hilarious, accurate and endearing representation of this time, Pen15 on Hulu. That being said I thought the main character was a good actress and I hope to see her in other things. Definitely didn’t hate it but wildly confused by the hype. I think people just like Bo Burnham tbh. I do too but I’m not the kind of fan that will like everything someone does just because I like them.
