I think that it could have done better. It was like the director didn't care about making a good movie. They thought that people would be happy if you gave them female leads. We want good female leads. Not just Hollywood throwing something together to make money.

It is definitely and acquired taste. If you are into these kind of movies then you will love it. If you are not then you probably will not. Personally, I love these kind of movies. Unrealistic kind of dark romances are my favorites to read. This is also the best book/movie in the series if you were wondering. You get to know the characters more personally. If you have a slightly deranged taste in fiction then it is truly worth checking out.
