Well! Only recently I have an odd obsession to watch the show. I always say I would never take my case to Judge Judy! And the show yesterday proved my point even more.(12/27/2018). The case involved NY residents and the plaintiff's point was his car would not have been impounded if the defendant did not have drugs in the car at the time the police searched the car. The plaintiff's car had an expired inspection sticker, and supposedly the police said that is why they pulled the defendant over. First of all NY stickers are located in the left lower side if the windshield. And chances of an officer being able to read your sticker as you are driving is low. And NY DOES NOT IMPOUND CARS FOR EXPIRED INSPECTION STICKERS! YOU WOULD RECEIVE A TICKET AND THAT IS IT! PERIOD! AND YOU CAN HAVE A VALID REGISTRATION WHILE HAVING AN EXPIRED INSPECTION STICKER! EACH OF THESE ARE RENEWED INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER. I did have a little faith that Judge Judy did some homework on each case, but now I know she thinks she knows everything and what she thinks she knows will be the fate of your case. Sorry that guy lost his case. The defendant stood there knowing NY does not work like Judge Judy was deciding, but hey he was winning! So, People, know who you are dealing with and take the lesson, learn from it, and move on! Judge Judy's decision will not help you!
