I thought this book was so well written and helps remind us of the humanity side of why people would attempt such a dangerous and difficult journey to uproot themselves from their home and country. I’ve read and heard a few of the criticisms and mistakes (machete vs. knife) about the author and the book but I find it to be ridiculous. This book captured me completely and made me wince in horror and sadness, and cry for the characters in the story. I want to thank the author for reminding me about the humanity of helping others and to be better about spreading the word to help. I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to the narrator for the Audible addition. She so captured me. Thank you!
