The amount of times the author repeated himself in this book leads to an exhausting read. And could he ever refer to Aech's smile as anything other than "Cheshire cat like grin? " it's like he was so proud of that one analogy that he had to say it a thousand times! The world building was good but felt very rushed in terms of plot. None of the goalposts the characters met on their quest felt like massive wins like they did in the first book. The whole book just felt like it was a product of meeting a deadline of an impatient publisher. I am disappointed.
