Watcher beware: you'll lose multiple IQ points at each episode. This is simply stated, nonsensical propaganda. The writers of this show clearly have no understanding of the nuances of American politics, particularly of the reasoning of the American Right. YIKES, truly. Idiot writers. The President in this show is not an Independent as they claim, but an unabashed Bolshevik, spewing hard left rhetoric as though it's objective fact. NONSENSE. It's interesting that they pose the left arguing a statutory point to stop the use of military force against an American civilian in anticipation of a serin gas attack (an argument which would, incidentally, much more likely come out of CATO or AEI than Brookings). After this case, the lawyer gets hired, regaled as a lefty hero. However, there is no such debate in the case of the government usurping the clear right to property of a pharmaceutical company owner in light of a flu outbreak- he's demonized for protecting his company, employees, shareholders, and the rights of those individuals who rely on the drugs that that company makes each year. Not to mention, it brushes over the fact that the government is effectively STEALING from a private company and its shareholders without even a clear understanding of whether or not this drug would work or have any side effects (not that a government stealing from its citizens should ever be taken so lightly). Then, the president goes on some witchhunt to defame a citizen because he fought to protect his property. Again, YIKES. Idiot writers. Then the President goes on some nonsense rant about the profits of "Big Pharma". To give you an idea of the real numbers: Pharma- 15% gross profit margin Google-27% gross profit margin Amazon- 38% gross profit margin Pharmaceutical companies are just that- companies. Additional evidence of the show's general laziness and disinterest in in truth in the American political system is their dismal portrayal of the House and Senate office buildings. They went all that way to videotape the outside of the Rayburn HOB and just opted not to walk inside. The problem that I have with this show is that is neutralizes debates by brushing aside what should be CLEAR QUESTIONS about how the government should work. Overall lazy, dumb writing and lazy, dumb set. Decent acting.
