Just watched Godzilla KotM, then started reading reviews and can’t understand why this movie is getting so many negative reviews. It was awesome if you are a Godzilla fan. If not you may not see some of the subtle and some of the not so subtle throwbacks to the older Japanese movies. However it is still a great movie and an fitting sequel. Good monster effects and good story. References to other Godzilla movies are thrown in at the right times. If you liked 2014 Godzilla, you’ll love this and if you are a fan of and have seen many of the older movies you will like the references in this movie. My wife even liked the movie and she doesn’t like Godzilla.
