Of the hundreds of books on psychology, scholarly or otherwise The Emery's book stands tall, especially for deep change and deep soul work. I suspect the authors have studied a lot of classic works on spirituality and esoteric thought like Gurdjieff, yet there are only hints of that here. They eschew all jargon and the book is written in many small nuggets of about 4-7 paragraphs each. The great Robert Ornstein called it a "triumph."
