I've seen scores or ww II war movies in my life. This is probably the worst. Half of the footage is pirates from 633 Squadron.
Waste of time.

The movie is entertaining as it is, but it deleted major portions of the book which movies do.
I would like to have seen some explanation of why Jesse became a pilot and his early life as a sharecropper's son.
The flying scenes and special effect as were excellent.
The book is better!
