So my parents grew up in the 50's and 60's when both this movie and Grease was supposed to have taken place. This is NOT how teens acted and my dad would have been considered a "greaser". Grease is my all-time worst movie ever, The Outsiders makes my Top 5 worst.
I know it is a matter of opinion, but this movie is just ridiculous. How it put some of these actors on the map is unreal. The acting in this was terrible. Matt Damon's "Do it for Johnny" makes me cringe every time I hear it. I caught this movie on BBC America recently and watched to just remember why I hated this movie, and it quickly reminded me why I couldn't stand it then, and hate it as much now.
Just the accents alone make this movie cringeworthy, then you have the names like Ponyboy and Sodapop.
If this movie is your thing, great, but it does nothing for me other than wanting to punch everyone of these actors right in their face...
