I was really looking forward to this release since Mulan is one of my favourite animations from Disney. But wow did I wish I never watched it. This remake is a try hard action film that isn't impressive at all. The fight scenes are mildly interesting with the martial arts but nothing special and certainly nothing I haven't seen before. There was absolutely no character development or empathy. They rush through all of the initial home scenes, training and her hilarious side kicks and instead leave you with dry personalities and awkward dialogue. It takes away all the comedy, character and catchy music from the original and takes a massive £20 premium off you just to watch it. More than a standard cinema trip for 2! Do not waste your money on this disappointment.
