I am a regular viewer of GW, and I found the recent article on the use/non-use of peat in compost. I try to find the peat-free, but it is not always available.
I have a subsidiary query. The bags in which the compost is packed are invariably made of plastic. In an age when plastic is being shunned via so many packaging issues, why is compost an exception? Also, why is the consumer expected to dispose of them?
