I am finding the series very watchable and it’s hard to delve into such a harrowing part of our country’s history , but I found that the cast did a phenomenal job. Ruth Wilson and Daryl McCormack should be very proud of their parts in this show . As far as the stereotypical comments about the cast on here, there was a time when smaller rural areas trusted and depended on the Catholic Church , where in their eyes they could do no wrong and or were scared of them, so the smaller town mentality of the time is very believable. I hope the cast and crew gets recognition for their work on this show. 👏

Good story line . Acting was “ good” . But apart from Maguire who is actually Irish …and being from Ireland myself , I heard some of the worst put on Irish accents I have heard since the movie Far and Away… Hollywood is going to have to figure it out soon that Irish people do not talk like leprechauns and maybe a bit of research into what a Dublin accent actually sounds like . The whole diddley idle stuff was a bit much at times too . But I’m vested in the story now so I will finish watching the series.

As a person from Ireland ,living in the the U.S, I grew up watching a lot of British dramas , so I love catching up on shows on Britbox and Acorn TV, especially,any detective series or murder mystery ,so this caught my interest and within 15 minutes of episode 1 , I had already lost interest. The new detective had just arrived and within 15 minutes was arresting people and knew the line dance at the local pub…. I’m sure it got better from reading other reviews, but if it doesn’t grip my interest from the get go , that’s it and this just seems to be rushing it all into the first quarter of the show , so not very believable unfortunately. Only giving it a one star for the scenery ..sorry
