Not the Valkyria Chronicles That I came to love over the years with Valkyria Chronicles 3 being the best so far in my book... luckily I can read
and understand spoken Japanese since there's no English translated version of that game (officially anyway).
In any case, the move to a full-on fantasy setting was bad one. I immediately stopped playing after I finished the first battle since the game was not the Valkyria Chronicles I was familiar with in the past.
Characters and even the protagonist failed to make me care about them to be invested in the game.
All in all, a game I rather have a memory block placed upon myself if it was possible.
Why can't they make a version with a pseudo modern warfare settings that is all the rage in FPS games these days? I rather play the 3rd instalment all over again instead of this. Buy that instead since the PSP store is about to be closed down soon and that game will be lost forever since Sony can't seem to comprehend the term; "Game Preservation".
EDIT : Whoops, my bad, I was scarred for life by the PS Vita version (Valkyria Chronicles Revolution, blech) of this series that I got the reviews mixed up. This game (VC4) is a return to form for the franchise. And no amount of next gen graphics will be able to outdo the masterful storytelling and world building the series is known for. Glad that they brought back the tried and true turn based combat after horrible mess that was VC Revolution on the Vita, yuck!
BUY THIS GAME.
