As someone who absolutely loves the original movie, this “remake” infuriates me. I didn’t watch the trailers hoping it would be a good movie. Nothing about this movie is right and I wish it was never made. Don’t waste your time if you’re a Child’s Play lover. It’s extremely modern and nothing like it should be. He isn’t a doll possessed by a serial killer which means the classic opening scene from the original doesn’t exist and makes his whole story wrong. He revolves around technology that has gone wrong. He only becomes violent because he is accidentally programmed to be. It also leaves out a major character for a major scene. The brand name is “Buddi” instead of “Good Guy”. He doesn’t have any of his classic catch phrases because it’s a completely new doll. The mom didn’t even get him from an alley bum and has a boyfriend. Andy isn’t a little kid, he’s a preteen who isn’t even excited about the doll.
