I did really like this book. Thought
I felt it dealt with gender in a very binary specific and outdated way. Why should a small girl and big guy encapsulate what it means to be a powerful and sexually compatible couple? The book was overall a very fun read, and I don’t mean to take away from that. But I feel the author made a choice to perceive the characters in the way she did, and I wasn’t the biggest fan of this super masculinized view on what male attractiveness means. And I especially didn't like the disparity between the two characters with the man being a calculative, complex character and the woman being a figment of beauty and desire. It’s comfortable reading books with such gender binary focus, but I think a better look at the way it structures gender roles would be a thoughtful addition to the storyline.
